The Operations and Steering Group meetings for the SAtComm project took place on the 16th and 17th of June, hosted by project partner the University of La Laguna in Tenerife, Spain. All 10 project partners were in attendance, and progress was reviewed across all work packages.
Key discussions focused on the development of the SAtComm software platform and the advancement of the five pilot sites. The group also visited the Pilot site located on the La Laguna campus, where solar energy and battery systems are being integrated to supply various campus loads through a shared energy model.
Additionally, the team explored other Energy Communities on the island to gain insight into how Collective Self-Consumption is being implemented in practice. These visits showcased the sharing of solar energy between municipal buildings and local residents, offering valuable real-world context for the project’s objectives.
