The Southern Regional Assembly, Ireland hosted its annual ETC Network Event, EU Funding in Action, at Assembly House, Waterford City, on 4 November 2025. More than sixty representatives from local authorities, higher education, community organisations and enterprise attended to explore upcoming EU funding opportunities and review ongoing European Territorial Cooperation (ETC) activity across the Southern Region.
The morning programme featured practical guidance on accessing EU funding, updates from National Contact Points on the European Urban Initiative and Interreg NPA, and a regional ETC project showcase. Participants also received an overview of the future direction of Cohesion Policy, followed by a keynote on the role of EU cooperation in regional development.
Sean Lyons presented on behalf of SAtComm, outlining the project’s aims and the benefits for the Walton Institute, SETU through its involvement in Interreg Atlantic Area collaboration.
The afternoon focused on First Level Control clinics, where project partners received one-to-one support on eligibility, claims and documentation.
The Assembly reported strong engagement throughout the event, reflecting growing interest in EU cooperation and funding opportunities across the Southern Region.
